Photography is a bit more than one click. It's the idea, the exposure (that's where the click comes in), the developing and the printing of the film on paper, or the manipulation of digital files in Photoshop, the choice of cropping, sizing and framing, and, the choice of increasing or reducing dark or bright areas, to balance the composition. Now, we are ready for the final stage in the creation of the photograph, the stage of Presentation. Who will see it and why? What should the photograph make the viewer think, or feel, or decide to do?
Meanwhile, that early stage of exposure, in the birth of a photograph, is not all that simple either. Before we go "click" we must first build a frame inside of which we will create a sculpture with light. Photography after all, is a Greek word that means "writing with light".
